Bandsintown and Groover partner up to help artists promote their music on stage

Bandsintown and Groover partner up to help artists promote their music on stage

We very purposefully make sure that at least half the shows suggested by our personalized recommendations are for relatively new artists. Our recommendation engine is learning from the fans’ music preferences to not only alert them when artists go on tour but also recommend artists that fans aren’t following (yet).

Bandsintown in a few words, what is it? When was it born?

Bandsintown is the world’s largest live music discovery platform. Every day we help approximately 1 million music fans discover concerts, buy tickets, and create their next live music experience.

Bandsintown launched in 2007 as a Facebook app and has grown over the years to become the multiplatform live music discovery hub that it is today. Since 2011 the brand has been owned by the Bandsintown Group.

In which countries does Bandsintown have the biggest communities of artists and users in general?

We’ve got a truly global community made up of 70 million registered fans and 560,000 registered artists from all over the world. Our biggest communities are in the US, Canada, France, the UK, and Germany.  But all of Europe, Japan, Australia, and South America also have large Bandsintown communities that are growing rapidly.

On what aspects and how can Bandsintown help artists develop their musical projects on stage?

Bandsintown offers free tools to help artists build their fan bases, promote their shows, and turn their music into a career. Unlike social media and streaming services, Bandsintown lets artists do everything from listing shows to selling merch to running professional-grade email campaigns—at no cost.

💡 Event promoters, artists, labels, agencies & brands of all sizes use Bandsintown Promoter to engage up to 70 million passionate live music fans with their message. Our self-serve email platform can help you target the world’s most engaged music fans by location and artist preference.

Bandsintown for Artists

In particular, how can Bandsintown help artists get more audiences to come to their shows?

In addition to our free artist tools, Bandsintown gives artists access to our massive online community. We very purposefully make sure that at least half the shows suggested by our personalized recommendations are for relatively new artists. Our recommendation engine is learning from the fans’ music preferences to not only alert them when artists go on tour but also recommend artists that fans aren’t following (yet).

Fans tell us they love this feature and artists share that many new fans say that they discovered them on Bandsintown.

Discover new and emerging artists with Bandsintown

We recently launched a partnership with Apple-owned Shazam that shows an artist’s tour dates when you Shazam a song. With their 225 million monthly active users and 1 billion monthly song searches, that’s a huge win for artists.

What do you think of Groover?

We love like-minded platforms like Groover that help artists grow, and look forward to sharing your success stories with our Bandsintown for Artists community.

Any future projects?

We’re always working on new ways to help artists.

Right now we’re in the middle of releasing our new Bandsintown for Artists Fan Management Suite which offers even more free tools to build fan audiences and capture first-party data including widgets, an API, and smart links for social posting and retargeting, improved analytics, the ability manage audiences and engage via email and push notifications and an email builder. Unlike social media, all collected fan information belongs to the artist.

With the Fan Management Suite, we offer artists a unique toolkit that rivals expensive services used by major labels and managers – all at no cost.

Expand the reach of your email campaign and target the world’s most engaged music fans by location and artist preference.
