Luxembourg-born Jean-Michel Nepper, aka JmNPR, is a multi-genre songwriter and producer making a name for himself.
Jean-Michel has gradually carved out a place for himself in the music industry thanks to his numerous collaborations with artists such as Roxiie Reese, Justis Poetic, Claire Virginia, Arianna Korona, Neven Nöthig, and Maïko. In September 2023, JmNPR made his mark with the release of “Up N’ Down,” signed to Californian label Catch and Release Records. His latest single, “Kill Your Idols,” has just been released, so you can listen to it now.
We had the pleasure of asking him a few questions about his musical career, upcoming projects, and the impact of Groover on his career.
I discovered Groover via the Internet, and then by launching campaigns, my songs were finally able to reach beyond Luxembourg’s borders.

Can you tell us a bit about your story and your musical project? How did you come to create your project and take it seriously?
It all started during quarantine, when we were all cooped up at home. I started writing lyrics & music and calling on professional English-speaking singers. After some studio work (mixing & mastering), I sent the tracks in question to a distributor. In addition to the platforms, some tracks were also broadcast on Today RTL, but the audience was essentially limited to the Grand Duchy.
How would you describe your music?
I’d say electronic pop with remixes that lean more toward dance or Latin.
How did you discover Groover, and what convinced you to use the platform? How did it help you?
I discovered Groover via the internet, and then by launching campaigns, my tracks were finally able to reach beyond Luxembourg’s borders. I then subscribed to the Groover Club for personalized support and to be able to attend/participate in the many masterclasses.
What opportunities have you had through Groover?
The Groover campaign for “Gimme A Smile” was particularly decisive. A producer in São Paulo and another in London asked me to send them the vocal tracks of my track for a remix. Then, it all came together: we were signed by the Californian label “Catch and Release” (owned by DJ/producer Paul Fisher). “Gimme A Smile” was renamed “Up N’ Down” and gained incredible exposure.
A collaboration was also been set up with Kahin@gency (label & artist service), which brings strong added value to artists.
What are your upcoming projects and other cool news you’d like to share with us?
During another Groover campaign, a link was formed with “Online Recording Studio” (London) and we’re now on our 6th project together. Our new track “Deepest Light” (JmNPR – Jveneno) will be released at the end of September this year, with more to follow in 2025.
Last December’s “Groover musical speed dating” also included a featuring (“Kill Your Idols – Remix”) with another club member (Spag Ruckus).
