Art Longo meets his label, Cracki Records, thanks to Groover

par Marguerite Beaussant

Art Longo, multi-instrumentalist and composer, has just released the first single from an upcoming album that might just become your next musical obsession! For years, he’s been crafting this gem in the intimacy of his home studio—soon, every track will be yours to discover. Blending psychotropical pop with the spirit of late-80s music and a touch of dub, his sound is a refreshing journey. This creative project also marks a rewarding collaboration with singer Claudia Jonas, whose airy, mysterious voice recalls the French icons of the sixties.

Knowing he wanted the right support for this release, Art Longo found the perfect partner: Cracki Records, discovered thanks to Groover 🔥

I recommend Groover to my friends, 100%! I wouldn’t have this great collaboration without it

Art Longo

Hey Cracki Records! We just heard some great news—can you tell us more about it?

Hey! Yes, we’re thrilled to have finally released “Quantum Ceviche,” the debut single from Swedish artist Art Longo! He’s a fantastic artist we discovered on Groover about two years ago. Out of the thousands of tracks we’ve received on the platform, this is the very first one we’ve signed—which says a lot about how unique and intriguing we found his project! Art Longo creates this sort of colorful, joyful psych-tropical pop infused with dub. It always brings to mind seaside vibes, palm trees, and even a bit of SpongeBob, haha!

And tell us a bit about yourselves! How do you support artists? What types of projects do you like to sign? What’s your relationship like with your artists? Do you sign a lot of projects?

Cracki is a small indie label (we’re only four people!) with a strong focus on supporting emerging artists. It’s really in our DNA and is what drives us in this industry. Most of the time, we work with artists who are releasing music for the first time, stepping into this world for the very first time. We support them in every step of making a record—sound, art direction, communication, booking if they don’t have an agent, and distribution as well. So, it’s a pretty complete package tailored to each artist’s needs.

We always have a close, friendly relationship with our artists. We meet or call each other often. Maintaining this family spirit is key to working together on projects and understanding each artist’s vision and goals.

As for the number of signings, it really varies, but since we go purely on our gut and what we love, it’s usually one or two signings per year on average.

Hey Art Longo! Now, your turn—can you tell us more about yourself, your music, and how your project was born?

Hello! I’m just a guy, currently living in Sweden, coping with life through creating music and writing fiction. The songs come from a place of escapism, wanting to create something fun that would feel simple yet creative.

What’s a day in the life of Art Longo like? What inspires you and fuels your creativity? Do you have any little routines before diving into your work?

A normal day i’ll have 2-3 cups of coffee watching tv before getting started in my studio at home. When it come to what inspires to create, Put simply, i find inspiration in other music. Lyrically i like to borrow (steal) bits and pieces from litterature. There is No real routine other than taking Every chance i get to write and produce. Having a studio setup at home gives me a lot of time. If i wanna be able to get some decent sleep i’ve realised i have to stop creating before 10pm. Otherwise i can’t shut off my mind

What made you want to work together? How did you first meet?

I had just finished this album with Claudia and hadn’t really shared it with anyone. I knew i wanted to find a nice collaboration on the album so i sent it out through groover and got in contact with cracki records. Cracki feels like a genuine record label that values Connecting with people in person, which i do too. i’ve had alot fun when meeting them, they are kind.

You’ve just released a first single together—can you tell us about it?

Quantum Ceviche was the first song that me and Claudia collaborated on. it’s a colourful dub inspired pop song that represents what i want to do. The cute sounds and relaxed feeling are in juxtaposition to its sinister lyrics about wishing the life out of someone.

What are your plans for the coming year?

We have an entire album ready to release in February/March 2025, but we’ll be dropping one or two singles beforehand because all the tracks are truly fantastic and deserve the spotlight. As for what’s next, we have a few demos that Gustav sent us for an upcoming record. They’re obviously great, so we’ll need to discuss that with him soon, haha.

Art Longo, what advice would you give to artists just starting their musical projects? What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since launching yours?

Well something that i keep telling myself is just keep pushing and be consistent, your previous releases might not gathered alot of listeners but they can still mean a lot to those listening. This album also taught me how fun and satisfying it is to collaborate and trust others in their artistic vision.

And finally, would you recommend Groover to your friends?

100%, i wouldn’t have this great collaboration without it
