Rock trio Storm Orchestra have just released an explosive new single, “Drummer!” We had the pleasure of asking them a few questions about their musical journey, current events, upcoming projects, and the impact of Groover on their career, which notably introduced them to their label, Mascot 🔥
“We were convinced by our meeting with the Groover team, who appeared both very competent and very human.”
– Storm Orchestra
Storm Orchestra, would you tell us a little about yourself and your music?
Storm Orchestra is an alternative rock trio. We started from scratch when we relaunched the band in 2019. I think our main influences are English rock like Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, and early Muse. But the three of us like quite different things, and tastes also evolve over time, which continues to enrich our music more and more. We have since released one EP and one Album, “What A Time To Be Alive,” both totally self-produced. We tour regularly in France and are starting to make inroads abroad (Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands). Things started taking off with the first album last year, when we signed with Rage Tour, Mascot Records, and Editions Hurlantes to continue our adventures.
What do you think would be the best way for people to discover your music?
Our biggest strength is probably live performance, where we can get across all the energy of our music and have a more personal connection with the audience. But of course, there are no limits to discovery. Whether it’s streaming, on the radio, or on CD, everyone discovers music their own way!
You’ve released one album, one EP, and a few singles; the train has already left the station, and we’d love to know more about your musical and mental evolution over time—Your choices, your doubts, your certainties, your dreams, your musical vision.
It’s hard to have that kind of hindsight when we’re looking straight ahead! We’re always on the move and rarely look back after learning from our experiences. We know where we’re going because we now know what we want to do artistically.
The 2nd album we’re starting to unveil is more solid and mature, and we didn’t fumble around as much as we did on the first. That has enabled us to go into greater depth on certain aspects of the composition, the arrangement, and above all, writing the lyrics, which was particularly important for us. We’re tackling more complicated themes in our lives. Still, we’ve never lost sight of our desire to make rock music that makes people want to sing along and dance. As for our goals, we often say to ourselves that we’d rather not think about where we’ll be in X number of years. At the time of the first EP, we said we’d meet up in 10 years’ time and take stock then.
How did you first hear about Groover, and what convinced you to use the platform?
We knew of Groover as a platform for connecting artists and professionals, and it was our friend Noémie who joined your team and told me about this new distribution arm. We’d already had experience with Believe on the first EP, but we were convinced by our meeting with the team, who seemed both very competent and very human. It was very easy to see how we could work together!
What did you get out of it?
A serious partner for the digital release of our first album, who also provided a lot of support afterwards to enable us to become more professional and meet more great partners… It was essential for us to have an accessible team to make everything work. You only release your first album once!
What made you want to work with Mascot?
Mascot is a great independent label that has worked on some great projects and artists, with a strong rock focus. Their team’s passion for our music made the difference, as did their ambition and drive.
Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?
We’re releasing our next single, “Drummer” on September 5, and our next album is due out in 2025. We’re also really looking forward to our first series of show dates in Germany at the end of September!

What advice would you give to artists embarking on a musical project?
It’s probably a bit presumptuous for us to give advice to anyone, especially as the further we get, the more we realize that there are fewer and fewer ready-made formulas, except in certain very standardized styles of music. Our advice to ourselves is to keep moving forward, and above all to remain united and passionate. If we could talk to the Storm Orchestra of 5 years ago, we’d just tell them not to give up.
Any final words?
We’d like to thank Groover and all your teams for supporting the release of our album!
